Realizing the Importance of Change

I always strive to obtain more knowledge and gain the understanding of others. In my quest for learning and experiencing new and interesting things, I came across a Netflix show. The show is called Down to Earth by Zac Efron. I only watched a couple of episodes, but with my thought process, I found myself relating to a lot of his personal outlook. The show is about understanding that if we change our way of thinking, great things can happen. It's also about the quest for purpose and personal growth. That relationship between self and change is very important.

We as humans sometimes get stuck in "our own ways." Meaning, change is hard. Empathy and understanding is hard. Growing and giving is hard, because that would mean accepting that nothing is supposed to be in it for you. "Don't let your left hand know what your right hand is doing." In turn, change often doesn't happen, or it does but for all the wrong reasons. Going outside of yourself, what would that mean? Does it come with judgement? Can I withstand my ground knowing there will be criticism of others? Am I strong enough to do so? When is it okay to boast knowing your actions may help? These are just some of the questions I ask myself when I think about the subject of giving or change. To be completely honest, I don't think these questions have definitive answers. So, how do we know if we are doing good or making necessary change?

The quotes pictured above stood out to me. I always love to further my thought process. It helps me gain empathy, and understand that others don't think the way I do, and that's okay. The little things I do feel so BIG to me. All I know is when I stand before God, I can certainly say I found my purpose in life. It has brought such meaning and didn't come with money, notoriety, or anything materialistic. I can also say, I didn't get there with always being helpful, honest, giving, or making necessary changes. I am with much fault. Yet, by knowing I have done wrong, I can make good. It's that true understanding of both. You can't change anything if you think you don't need to. Humbling oneself is the one aspect of change necessary to us all. It is then purpose with meaning can be self actualized. Keep questioning and don't be quick to answer!
